Dream it, Be it

Soroptimist International Moses Lake helps put dreams into action

For Goodness Sake Posted on Feb 17, 2019
Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls is a program designed to help girls grow up to be strong, successful women. The program provides girls with access to professional role models, career education and the resources to achieve their dreams. Soroptimist International Moses Lake works with the Moses Lake School District, other school districts in Grant County, plus community partners to host an annual Career Conference for girls age 14 to 18. This event provides the opportunity for girls and young women to interact with local professional women while learning about a variety of career paths, setting and achieving goals, and overcoming obstacles to success.

Interactive sessions provided throughout the event offer girls an opportunity to learn how to balance stress, discover dreams, and how to put dreams into action. The Career Conference provides girls with tools to grow and encourages them to DREAM. We believe – if You Can Dream It, You Can Be It! By reaching girls while they are still young, we not only can help them stay healthy and safe in the short term, but we can reduce the number of women in crisis in the future. Putting them on a path that will help them realize their dreams.

The 2019 event, hosted by Soroptimist International of Moses Lake is FREE to attend and is being held on Saturday, March 16th from 9 am until 2 pm at the Columbia Basin Technical Skills Center (CBTECH) in Moses Lake. Advance registration by March 1st is required. Girls are invited to visit http://moseslakesoroptimist.net/programs/dibi/ to RSVP or visit their school counseling office for registration information. Updates can be found on Instagram (@dreamitbeit_ml) and on the Moses Lake Soroptimist Facebook page.
