The 2016 Tony Award-winning play THE HUMANS will be presented by Masquers Theater in Soap Lake starting February 15. It will run for 3 weekends thru March 3, on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 and Sunday matinees at 2:00.

The Humans tells the story of a Blake Family Thanksgiving day.  Eric and Deidre (played by Darryl Pheasant and Patty Jardine) travel to the new apartment of their younger daughter Brigid (Emma Russel) and her boyfriend (Justin Rowland).  Also at dinner is Brigid’s sister Aimee (Penny Sanford) and grandmother Momo (Rosalee Chamberlain).  During the course of the day, secrets are revealed by each person that causes concern, frictions, and reactions.

The way that Stephen Karam, the playwright, brings to light everyone’s secrets intrigued me” says, Director Cheri Barbre. “This play touches on so many aspects of modern American life. Baby boomers vs millennials, faith, job insecurity, medical issues, how we live in fear, and the importance of family and unconditional love. You may be reminded of your own family dinners.”
